an ethical and moral thing to do? I don't think so.
Is God any different? Is creating a race of sentient, emotive, feeling robots to be our slaves, rewarding failure with eternal pain?
Yeah, God is very different. He gave you free will to question/reject Him...hardly a robot. Is creating a race of sentient, emotive, feeling robots to be our slaves, rewarding failure with eternal pain?
Hey, I would have to say that anyone who thought punishing some one with infinite hell for finite bad doing is illogical, and resembles a psychopathics absent of guilt, and remorse, but then again imaginary beings can be whatever we want them to be, they can even have hate for heathens, and want their followers to kill thousands of innocent people.
I am just thankful I don't believe in imaginary rulers, and that the world of today isn't ruled by one.
Who do I have to thank for that? Not some Hebrew God, but men who were willing to step out of the norm and explain the universe more clearly. Even though those historical figures who have shaped the scientific world of today are mostly dead, the views were passed on and are spreading.
2,000 some years under the law of some imaginary being was long enough. Time to really understand who we are, instead of thinking that pretending will solve all our answers. If we can't do that, we're screwed. Hope for the best. Life isn't a test its a conquest for human decency and normality.
Peace.
You wouldn't believe the answers I've gotten to this one.
He doesn't want us to go to Hell. We send ourselves there. He's created a way out for us and he wants us to follow that path so we can be with him in Heaven.
/facepalm
You just watched A.I. didn't you...it's a great movie.
God is a word, it means what you want it to mean.
The slave part was the different one but the rest, it's how the bible, the koran and the Veda described God.
