You will always get the same special pleading in response to this.
They will say the universe cannot exist unless it was created. It must have a creator and that creator is god, but god was not created and requires no creator because theists have granted him special dispensation to break the rules they say apply to everything else because they want their sky daddy whatever amount of mental gymnastics and illogic it requires, and they will plug their ears and shut their eyes and sing la-la-la-la till you atheists go away with all your facts and logic and reasoning and using your brains and all the sharp, pointy and uncomfortable truth stuff.Do you think that god created the universe after creating himself sounds logic?
God did not create Himself. He is infinite....Simply put.......God always was, always is, and always will be. As humans, our finite minds cannot begin to comprehend infinity. We, in our physical state, can only comprehend things that are finite, a beginning and an ending. But God is Spirit. God is鈥攖he ';High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy'; (Isaiah 57:15). In the resurrection, believers will be on the same plane of existence as God and Christ鈥攈aving been transformed into the same kind of beings They are. Amazingly, this is the astounding potential destiny of all humanity, and, though we will number in the millions, even billions, we will be perfectly joined together as one. For at that momentous time we will all partake of the divine nature in the most ultimate sense, being divine members of the very family of God. Our ultimate destiny is to participate in rulership over the entire universe as glorified, immortal children of God!
No idea how God got there... that doesn't change the fact that I think all matter has to have some kind of creator and that it didn't spring forth from nothing for no reason.
and THAT'S what makes religion a weak space in my heart.
Everything doesn't have a beginning.
It can't. Either God or Matter always existed in some form.
I know matter exists and cannot be reduced to nothing, so my money is on it.
No it's not logical. Your question is ';based in fairy tales';! Who said everything has a beginning?
Err.....how the **** is something creating itself logical?
Does everything have a beginning?? Maybe it doesn't. You and I think that because we are finite beings with a finite view of the universe. It's quite possible that some things have no beginning...and possibly no end.
God does not exist in time therefore He has no beginning or ending. Unfortunately we are not able to understand things outside of time so we are unable to understand God who exists outside of time.
This is not a problem if you believe God to be God; it's only a problem if you think God should be like us.
Well in my opinion Logic and Religion don't ever go together, Science contradicts religion, and science uses logic.
do you think an ant could conceptualize our lives
they are simpleminded, right
we are so narrow minded we cant even get along without killing each other
or keeping our planet habitable for life
So, would that be ';God said 'let there be me,' and there was, and it was good';...?
one thing you people really have to stop confusing is logic and god you cant put those two words in the same sentance
god has nothing to do with logic
logic only defines what out meager minds can process and make sense of
and god is not hindered by logic
Imagine that you hit a golf ball. While it is sailing through the air, the microscopic organisms living on it begin questioning everything that you have told them about yourself. They refuse to believe that it was you who sent their ball on it's present course, and many don't believe that you exist at all. After all, their microscopic scientists have everything all figured out, and conventional wisdom says that there is no golfer. Say what they want, it doesn't change the fact you really do exist, and nothing is going to prevent you from taking your next shot...
god did not create himself. and life (for us) didn't either. life did not evolve out of dead matter. there had to have been some type intelligance to make it.
God is eternal, to the extent that the human mind can comprehend. That means he extends to infinity in both directions, not just forward.
anyway, that's what I believe. :o)
Well you've found the heart of the question. Theology, Mythology, Philosophy, Science - all of these disciplines have run into the same wall when it comes to the first step of universe. In the myths of the Babylonians, Greeks, and Norseman there was simply Chaos out of which the universe sprung. In the Bible it was darkness. Scientists call what preceded the Big Bang the singularity. We just don't know.
well...i agree with you even though i m a christian...maybe...nothing...well, the more i think wats b4 god...b4 universe...the more headache i have...its making me crazy...nobody could answer this question logically,miss...or mrs...-_-
you should be lucky that you are born in this wonderful world^^
We are three dimensional beings. Because of this, it is difficult for us to understand four dimensional stuff.
The things we see and know in our world all have a beginning and an end (for the most part).
God said ';in the beginning'; - have you ever thought about the beginning of WHAT?
My point is that the beginning as far as we are concerned may not have been the beginning of God.
He tells us that he created - this tells me that he was in existance already.
If you do some reading in His word, there are some interesting scriptures that I think you will like to chew on.
The first little bit of Genesis - until the fall of man. The first little bit of John. Hebrews also talks a bit about the beginning as does Isaiah.
Have fun. The real questions are the best ones. I hope you find real answers!
You know...
He was probably in a dimension with other gods and when he finally came of age the older gods let him pick a dimension to play with, so I say he got everything set up on other side then poofed himself over here!
Well, he could hardly have done it the other way around, could he?
a goat herder was sitting in a tent 2000+ years ago, smoking some really good refer and came up with 'god'...
God has always been here, nobody created Him. Eternity is something that no one can understand...you just have to have faith.
God didn't create himself.
He always was and will always be.
wow, i have often wondered that exact same thing. i think its something we wont no until we die:(
How can something create itself if there's nothing there to produce it from, its like asking which came first the chicken or the egg.
That works for creationism and the evolution theory. The beginning of everything had to start with something, but by our rules that something had to come from something else, it can't just spontaneously appear! Now my head hurts...
Everything created has a beggining, God does not have a beggining, He is everlasting, with no beggining and no end.
